16 - Requiem, the finless shark by Astral-Requin 16 - Requiem, the finless shark by Astral-Requin
Inktober or… Sharktober? - Week 2

This week, I decided to illustrate some races of the Squaluan civilization, they are all concepts of my story, except the last little ghost shark. He is a character I created recently, I think I will create a comic to reveal its history.

Requiem lost his fins, but he does not remember what happened.
Since then, he has been searching for them.

I like sharks balancing the loss of their fins through water/spirit magic! Looks sad, but also cool!

A beautiful tragedy.

This image is deeper than the depth of which their bodies have sank.

In some Asian countries shark and dolphin fins are a delicacy. But usually the animal dies. Awwww that is so sad :(

Yes, in the end we would end up destroying ourselves. But I still have hope, but not for our generation ~

Its about when scientists genetically modify sharks, whales, dolphins, and seals and they break free of the scientists and bred with the already existing population creating a new sentient species. They take over after the earth is flooded from tsunamis, they become the dominate species.

Wow, it looks very interesting! Surely I would read! Keep me posted if you make it real.

In my story the same thing happens, but not with scientific aspects. It happens in a spiritual way and involves elderly entities, etc.

The "Squaluans" are the sharks of our planet that evolved in the future. They said that the Kiyamet was a long-time resident of the Hawaiian volcano, which influenced the Hawaiian legends about a shark god. Kiyamet were "stranded" in the primordial Earth to get away from a "cosmic hunter", wich his motives are still unknown.

Desiring to camouflage its presence to become invisible to the cosmic hunter, I have decided to break his soul into a million pieces and places them in the heart of every shark and ray, which naturally arose in the oceans due to the presence of Kiyamet, I have influenced the Elasmobranchs to intertwine this planet to be part of nature as it is wich brings ecological balance.

There was a moment that the gods who conceived humanity also descended on Earth, initially humanity offered a key role to Kiyamet purposes in an ancient golden age, but it ended because of an alleged cataclysm caused by the fall of a second moon that Earth possessed known The 'Lilith'. Its fall was influenced by a cosmic battle between Kiyamet and Thalazmat, the hunter that both the entity feared. He managed to drive him out of the solar system, but an inevitable consequence, the golden era of humanity was erased from history and the dark era for humans began.

Since then, mankind forgot many wisdoms and became orphan from their gods, which created a generation increasingly desperate, vain, corrupt, ignorant and pessimistic. The human presence has become a burden to Kiyamet because humans of our generation that produced very negative vibrations affecting the entire biosphere of the planet and Kiyamet was slowly killing. His son was also children at the hands of humans, every dead shark was like to Kiyamet and every portion of water from the poisoned ocean was like suffocation to the entity.

Finally, in a very distant future, an event caused by the extinction of humanity which freed the shark to evolve in a new Earth, where a new species of animals, plants and biomes emerged. The Squaluan civilization flourished and the new world was renamed Ocelancia.

what do you think?

0-0 that's a lot to take in and some of that i didn't quite understand like the Hawaiian god stuff, cosmic hunter, and Lilith this started to sound like some evangelion stuff.  But after that everything else made sense the gods abandoning humans and the sharks evolved a new world being created.

I have some art of my story in my gallery if want to see it. But its a very interesting ideaNod if that was a book I'd read it too.
